About Me.

Hi, I'm Emilio. I'm a British-Peruvian illustrator and animator currently based in Manchester. I am currently studying my second year of a degree in Illustration with Animation at Manchester Metropolitan University. You'll find that my art style is playful, experimental, and full of whimsy, but more than anything it's art that makes you happy, and that's the most important thing to me. If my art has made you smile, then my mission has been a success. The world right now is going through a lot, so if I can make at least a few people a bit happier with my art, the world might feel just a little bit brighter.

The main things I enjoy drawing are animals, silly little creature designs, natural environments, and amusingly eccentric characters. I am now aiming towards a career in children's storybook illustration, and have begun to tailor my style and work content more towards this end goal.
I do also occasionally practice my skills in 2D animation, and have made an animated short in collaboration with The CBSO, one based on a Navajo folktale, and more recently have completed a group animation about urban greening, in which I served as the Lead 2D animator and concept artist. I am always trying and testing out new concepts and media, and will likely be open to any suggestions.

I'm most active on Instagram @emilio.illustrates so you will always be able to find me there.
